Pediatric Physical Therapy

Pediatric physical therapy provides assistance and intervention for infants and children during various developmental stages exhibiting movement disorders and encountered with health problems. These problems include premature birth, low birth weight, cerebral palsy, attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder, developmental delay and autism. Since any disorder in any system through all the developmental stages would affect normal growth and development, comprehensive early intervention programs are normally adopted for infants and babies, while interventions on movements and activities of daily living are for children of school age. The ultimate goal is to induce congenital potentials of the children and help take care of themselves in daily lives and be part of the society. |
